2006 Platinum AE proof
 

I bought one of these earlier in the year. Thought I would take a gamble on future numismatic worth. 14,000 made, plus this is a one year only design for the back of the coin.

I think the earlier years with the eagle scenes have very attractive reverses. The newer ones don't do much for me.

Yeah, I like some of those older ones. but won't be buying any more any time soon.

Keep an eye out for the 10th anniversary set. There is speculation that this could be a good one to get (hard to say IMO with platinum though) like last years gold and silver sets.

The reverses of the PAEs are nice, especially, as others noted, the earlier years.

The obverse is ugly, IMO.

I second that. The PE obverse is a real shame. If I were going to buy platinum, it would have to be Canadian.

Maples Leafs are cool! Pt Pandas are very nice, too.
